Welcome!

Message from the Chairman

Dear visitor,

Welcome to the Most Glorious People's Republic of A1!

For those who have not had the pleasure of yet becoming involved in micronationalism, it's never too late to begin. Starting your own or joining an existing one has become a lot easier, especially with the onset of the internet.

Many different people of many different parts of the world are actively involved in the micronational community, and I, at least, have absolutely no regrets at being involved in it. The people you meet and the things that you see and do are often interesting, fun and clever.

I, personally, only heard of micronationalism during a boring politics class at school, when someone in the class mentioned the greatly respected micronation of the 'Principality of the Province of Hutt River', in Western Australia. Another classmate and I, then toying with the idea of our classroom, called A1, becoming independent, seized upon the idea. The revolution began on 22 November 2007, culminating in A1's declaration of independence on 1st January 2008.

Since then, A1 has grown rapidly from having only 15 citizens in Febuary 2008 to over 80 in December 2009. We have citizens from all over the world, ranging as far afield as Russia and Indonesia, as well as a high percentage of active citizens who activly participate in governing the nation.

I hope that I have provided some sort of insight into this from my perspective, and have not caused you to fall asleep.

Heil Pprit!
